Join fellow business, government, education and community leaders for an interactive, half-day workshop on the tangible benefits of embracing sustainability with a firm introduction to The Natural Step Framework. Building on the business case for the triple-bottom-line, you will learn the basics of The Natural Step, and hear case studies demonstrating successful implementation of the Framework. Through a number of exercises, participants will have an opportunity to identify key sustainability issues in their businesses and learn how to apply the Framework to improve their business products or services. What You Will Learn: The business-case for the triple-bottom-line A whole systems perspective for considering sustainability The Natural Step: a strategic framework for sustainability based in science How you can use the Framework for decision-making and strategic planning Facilitated by Jill Sughrue, professional trainer, consultant and coach. Prior to establishing Sustain NW, LLC in 2005, Jill spent 27 years in corporate risk management, including 16 years as insurance director with Portland General Electric. She is co-facilitator of the NW Sustainability Consortium; cofounder of LOCALS,* a business alliance in SW Washington; and facilitator of Earth Advantage Institute’s S.T.A.R. training for realtors. A founding member of the International Society of Sustainability Professionals, an active volunteer with the Northwest Earth Institute, and a graduate of University of Oregon’s Sustainable Leadership Program, Jill has worked with dozens of audiences ranging from 5th graders at Catlin Gabel to mature learners at Clark College on the relevance of “connecting the dots” for a more sustainable world.
