Nonprofit Network SWWA

History of the Nonprofit Network Southwest Washington

The Nonprofit Network Southwest Washington had it roots in the Capacity Building Network, a core program of an organization called Gifts for Our Community (home of the Holiday Shop and Divine Consign).  Nonprofit Network activities 2002-2007 as a part of GFOC included over 35 professional development workshops, more than 40 executive director and development network sessions, 40 newsletters and more than a dozen special events to benefit hundreds of nonprofits and local community groups exclusive of the retail fundraising activities.  In the fall-winter 2007 the board determined that the integrity and strength of each entity was better supported by the creation of two entities.

The Executive Director Network, professional development workshops, communications support, the Nonprofit Network Giving Circle are now home in the Nonprofit Network Southwest Washington.  Growing stronger with new complementary programs focused on strengthening boards and community.  NNSW was recognized as a tax-exempt entity by the Internal Revenue Service in 2008.

We are grounded in the experience and connections of our past, but now in an form where we can be more flexible and responsive to the growing community needs.

We invite you to join us in creating a bright future.
