INNOVATIVE SERVICES NW

INNOVATIVE SERVICES NW

Innovative Services NW is a 46 year old, local nonprofit organization.  We value, assist and support children, adults and families in our community who have disabilities or other types of disadvantages.  We are one of the most unique nonprofits on the West Coast because of the breadth of services we offer, from birth to end of life.  We have 16 program areas and provide inclusive childcare; pediatric therapy services for children with special needs; employment services for adults with disabilities; adult day health services for elders or adults with disabilities; and support for children and youth in foster care.  We currently serve more than 750 children, adults and families on a weekly basis.  Eighty-five percent of the children in our childcare program are low income; seventy percent of the children receiving therapy services are on Medicaid; and ninety percent of the adults we serve receive Social Security Income or other types of subsidy.  Innovative Services NW is dedicated to providing opportunities to maximize each individual’s highest potential while promoting respect and acceptance of human diversity; sensitivity to individual and family needs; and inclusion in a nurturing, community-supported environment.

We host a Holiday Open House for all of the children, families and clients we serve with visits from Santa Claus.  Also, our Custodial, Employment, Childcare and Adult Day Health Center programs have holiday parties for their clients.

WALK ‘N KNOCK FOOD DRIVE

WALK ‘N KNOCK FOOD DRIVE

Walk and Knock is run 100% by volunteers.  It is a one-day county-wide food drive on Sat. Dec. 5.  Those who rely on the food banks often have to decide on which is more important, paying the light bill or the rent, or using that same money to put food in the mouths of their children.  We may not be able to solve this problem entirely, but together we have an opportunity to let families put this decision off just a little bit longer.

Watch The Columbian  on Dec. 2 for a grocery bag, place canned and packaged goods in the bag, or in any bag, and put it on your doorstep the morning of Dec. 5.  It’s that easy to make a big difference this season.

Volunteer opportunities and more information at the Website

Donations Needed

• Non Perishable Food on December 5

The following supplies are welcome before December 5 to help with the Food Drive. Telephone 877-99-KNOCK (877-995-6625) if you are able to donate some of these important supplies to help the food drive succeed!
