Nonprofit Excellence Awards 2011
U.S. Bank presents the Nonprofit Excellence Awards 2011. The September 13 Awards Reception recognized and celebrated excellence in nonprofit impact, innovation and governance. It was a great evening with many surprises!
The Nonprofit Network strengthen community by strengthening nonprofit organizations. By recognizing great practices in nonprofit management and governance, we are able to provide models for other nonprofits to use as well as to honor the outstanding work being done by all the award finalists.
The award finalists are listed below. Award Recipients are noted with *
Each award recipient received a check for $1,000. For the Impact Award, which was a tie, each group received a check for $500.
In a surprise announcement at the end, Master of Ceremonies, U.S. Bank Vice President of Community Relations David Wynde announced that each of the three finalists would also receive a check for $500 from U.S. Bank to the delighted crowd! Over 170 people attended the event at the Red Cross Building on the Fort Vancouver Trust.
Corporate Community Support Award Recipient Columbia Credit Union asked that the Nonprofit Network direct their $1,000 to Support for Early Learning and Families, and matched it with a Columbia Credit Union donation of $1,000!
Excellence in Governance Award
The boards selected for this award have demonstrated excellent practices in one or more of the primary nonprofit governance responsibilities of planning, financial and programmatic oversight, resource development, visibility, board development and responsiveness to change.

Innovation Award
This award is limited to small nonprofits with gross revenue under $500,000 per year. The finalists have demonstrated innovative internal or external innovative strategies or approaches designed to achieve improved performance or impact.

Impact Award
The finalists in the Impact award providing a service or program that has demonstrable and measurable impact on the problem being addressed or the need being met.

Corporate Community Support Award
These finalists have provided support for the nonprofit sector including contributions, volunteer support and in-kind services targeted to helping one or more nonprofits achieve greater sustainability.
